We are the Coons—Dylan, Rebecca, and our three beautiful daughters, Harlow (9), Everylee (7), and Tanzie (5). Our family recently faced the heartbreaking loss of our beloved French Bulldog, Teddi. Teddi wasn’t just a pet; she was a joyful spirit who brought endless laughter and warmth into our lives. Her favorite place was the beach, where she would run with boundless energy, her fluffy brown fur catching the breeze, her heart full of love for the world around her.
One of Teddi’s greatest joys was visiting Oakridge Elementary, where she met all of Harlow’s classmates. She had a gentle way of making everyone feel special, wagging her tail as if to say, “I’m happy to see you.” Teddi was a mother to some very special puppies, and her sweetness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. We are eternally grateful for the time we spent with her, and her absence has left a void in our hearts that can never be filled.
In the midst of our deep sadness, the idea for TeddiTalks was born. We wanted to honor Teddi in a way that would keep her spirit alive—not just for us, but for all families who have loved and lost a pet. We believe Teddi is watching over us, and we know she will continue to bring joy and learning to our girls through the stories we create with her in mind. Her spirit lives on in every tale, every joke, and every adventure.
TeddiTalks is for anyone who has experienced the loss of a pet or simply wants to engage with their living pet in a meaningful, family-friendly way. This platform is designed to bring comfort, joy, and a sense of connection to the pets who have touched our lives in ways words cannot fully express.
The creation of TeddiTalks was inspired by a mixture of gratitude, sadness, and confusion—feelings that any pet owner who has experienced loss will understand. We wanted to channel those emotions into something beautiful, something that would help others know that their beloved pets are always watching over them, their love as eternal as the bond you shared.
As we poured our hearts into this project, we found ourselves thinking of Nancy Tillman’s “The Heaven of Animals.” Her words comforted us and inspired us to create a space where the spirits of our pets could continue to guide, teach, and comfort those they left behind. We hope that through TeddiTalks, families everywhere will feel the same sense of peace and hope that we have found in this journey.
Teddi’s memory lives on in every word, in every story told. She is more than just a memory—she is a guardian, a teacher, and a friend who will forever be a part of our family. We are honored to share her spirit with you, and we hope that TeddiTalks will bring a little light into your life, just as Teddi brought light into ours.
With love and hope,
